There's a picture in, I think, Long Strange Trip, showing Bob and his sister in the 1950s. Very '50s country club. I tried to find it in an image search and couldn't, but did find this one. I've never seen one that looks like this of Bob, that's for sure! I'll link below (since links don't come out with photos):

Here's the site, apparently put up by the fellow to the left, who knew Bob because he sat next to him in school:

Mostly about Mother McCree's. Pretty interesting.

"But places like the Uptown, the Stanley, and Cleveland Public Hall aren't on the map yet"
they are there. or now they are there. just been checking
out the same stuff you are. And Colms and Cleve were the
first places I checked (selfish, I know)~~ Just have to
click on NEXT (PREV) for validation.
and at least they played in Joe Lewis Arena.
They played Detroit.

they played Detroit!

That is wonderful site. Gonna have to quit my job in
order to keep up with all of this good readin' stuff...

You're right. The pins aren't immediately visible, but they are if you either click on "next" or zoom waaaaaaay in.

But I still get to gripe: The Uptown was NOT demolished in 1981, as it says! It was closed to the public then. (Don't know it's current status; Wikipedia indicates it's still not open, though there's a restoration effort.)

Now I've gotta figure out where the comment box is on the little map pinpointy things.

Btw, I think you want to keep your day job until your map-reading job pays ... :-)
